The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is before The Elder Scrolls Online.
In this game there are three empires and they are called, Daggerfall Covenant, Ebonyheart Pact and Aldmeri Dominion.
You can chose one of them and the game is online.
In the previous games of The Elder Scrolls you will play in one of the cities of Tamriel but in The Elder Scrolls Online, you will journey through the whole Tamriel.

This game is coming out in spring 2013 and it firstly comes in PC. Many people are very excited about this game because one of the very nice features are that there is only one server in the whole game, so if you want to play with your friend you don't need to go through all those servers like in the other online games.
